Also about pregnancy and STI's and basically tell her you forbid it, she will be angry with you now but she will thank you when she has completed school, working in her dream job and finds the right partner at the right time. I agree with what people are saying here. The sooner the better, it's not a relationship, he's way too old and there is a massive difference in growing up from 13 to Protect her because she doesn't know any better and deserves for her first time to be with someone equally still fumbling and learning, not a 17 year old!!
Show her this is not healthy, let him know this is not Ok, and do not fear him. If you fear him, what on earth will she do?! His decisions are his, if he proves unstable then better you're distanced from him, if he threatens empty threats you've learnt about him and again, teach her these are qualities to avoid in a man, it's not a healthy connection and you should recognise and break away asap. Get her far away from him. I was her done years ago. It didn't end well. Move if u have to..
You are the parent. End this relationship straight away. Imo it should never have been allowed in the first place.
I'm sorry but first if anything has happened sexually it's illegal, secondly there is a massive developmental difference from a 13 year old girl and 17 year old young man who will be 18 within the next 12 months. My partner's just turned 15 yo daughter was dating a 21 yo guy. He reported the guy to the police who took it seriously. IMO a 13 yo is way too young to be dating a 17 yo. He could be charged with child abuse if it goes further. I'd ground her for her own safety. This was me similar rules everything we still managed to have sex alot.
I know have a 14 year old daughter and she is not allowed boys over she does not go out by herself very often at all her phone and fb arw checked by me daily and if i suspect tampering with messages she loses fb and her phone. I migh seem like im smothering my daughter but ahe doesn't mind following the rules as they have always been their.
If i was you i would probly restrict outside activities and take her phone from her chamge her number and get rid of the boyfriend. You need to hold ur ground ur the parent and she needs to learn about healthy boundaries in a relationship so maybe get a health care plan put in place so she can get some couselling.
Good luck from one mother to another. This was me, except he was older than I wish to God my mother had stepped in, but But she never stepped in, or half heartedly did, and you know what? Since she pretty much did nothing, off I went and did what I wanted. Depending on what sort of relationship you have with her, I say step in, and step in wholeheartedly. If you can't talk to her, take her to someone who can.
13 year old daughter dating 17 year old boy... Help!!
I have sooooo, soo many regrets from that age and I wish to God I'd had a different set of parents. As far as I was concerned if she didn't stop me then she didn't give a shit about what I did.
Does she have positive male attention from father type figures in her life? Whats she searching for? Why is she charging so fast into adulthood? Id knock this on the head quick smart but be mindful it might happen again.
There are underlying issues I'd say. My sister started dating at 13, he was No actual full sexual experience but he managed her life, got her to quit school after year 10 and get a dead end job so they could marry when she was Don't miss a new post to this thread! Get e-mail or text message alerts on new posts. My 17 year old male friend is dating a 13 year old child.
Is it just me or do you think its bad that he is dating a child? Her parents don't know and his parents don't know either. What should I do?! At that age, we can assume that they are getting sexual with each other. If you know her last name or her parents, I would contact the parents, if I were you. If she does get pregnant, and keeps the baby, it can ruin his life too. You can't tell someone what to do, but make them fully aware of their consequences of their actions.
Does he want to live with making child support payments for 18 years? Talk to him like a concerned friend. That's the best you can do for him. Let him know you are there for him and that he can talk to you about any problems. The best thing you can do is try to be a good friend. I fully agree I would talk to your 17 year old friend as a concerned friend and leave it at that. They are both in high school. This is potentially a grade 11 kid dating a grade 10 kid, though more likely 11 and 9. These are still both kids. I would not recommend worrying.
Connected2News said "They are both in high school. He's not in school. He a drop out.. I have talked to him about it and he won't listen. He's turning 18 in the beginning of next year.. I know her , quite well.. She tells anyone that yes he will get charged.
He better to wait until she is 15 or more preferably more to do anything with her Well in a year or less he will be 18 an adult dating a 14 year old girl?? Yes, she could get pregnant but besides that it's just wrong. She hasn't had any time to mature even if she 'uses her brain'. What if she was dating a 15 year old? Why is it that when you turn this magical number 18 that all of a sudden you are mature and everything is good. Would anyone complain if it was an 18 year old with a 22 year old? Was this guy born in a cave and not aware of possible legal implications?
The law doesn't see 'LOVE', they look at age. Sorry, that's just the way the law works. Age may not matter later in life as a mature adult when your brain is fully developed at about 25, but for now, if I had a daughter that was 13 and secretly dating a 17 year old boy, on the verge of 18?
I'd want to know. I'd suggest to the boy to leave it and start dating girls around his age, as he is just asking to be in hot water should something happen. Does this kid not have friends his own age through school? Leave the little girls alone.
She is still a child who just recently hit puberty, of course age matters. When you are a teenager, 4 or 5 years is a big difference. Obviously an 18 yr old can make his or her own decision if they wanted to date older. Think of the girl, man.
13 year old dating 17 year old? | Yahoo Answers
It's border line statutory rape, bottom line. It's a simple term called The Law. This isn't about 18 and 22 year olds. We're talking 13 years old here, and a boy that should know better. Edited by Slight Take, When I was 13 I was dating a 17 year old.. But anyways, It's not illegal.. Even when he turns 18, she will be turning 14 in that same year.
I was told by authorities that under 16, a person can have a sexual relationship with someone UP TO 4 years older than them..
https://ceogennite.tk So say he turns 18 in February, and she doesn't turn 14 til April, that is more of a grey area, and after 16, it doesn't matter, they could be with a 40 year old if they wanted But I think it depends more on the mental maturity of the people, not so much the age itself. Heck, I know someone who just turned 18 a while ago, and she is dating a 43 year old man.

But whatever makes people happy I guess.. I do understand where people are coming from though, even the thought of one of my younger sisters dating someone alot older than them scares me.. And I do think her parents should know, but that's their place to tell them, not yours or anyone elses. My concern would be how impressionable she is, at that age we are not fully developed period.
He is nearly an adult, I would question why he is not dating or attempting to have relationships with girls nearer to his age. My daughter is going on 12, entering grade 7 this year. I would not be ok with her hanging out with and foraging any kind of relationship with kids 15 years of age and older, regardless of gender. Don't get me wrong , I'm 19 dating a 28 year old..
I'm not saying she can't date anyone , I'm saying they shouldn't be together till she's 16 with her parents consent.. Fishin guy , were you born yesterday? Age is jus a number , yes.. If I had a girl who was 13 , I'd want her to date ppl her own age and I would not allow her dating someone 4 years older , also almost an adult! It's not "their life" as another poster suggested, at 13 she can't see down the road, her brain isn't even done developing yet Canadian Statutory Rape Laws.
Where is the girl's parents in all of this? If they don't know about it I think you have a responsibility to let them know so that they can protect their daughter. It doesn't matter how mature this girl is she is not capable of making a decision about this relationship. The guy's parents should also be informed so that they can have a chat with their son and let him know this is just simply not acceptable behaviour and that a decision to carry on this relationship with a girl that age could carry serious consequences for him and her.

Honestly, that would make me very uncomfortable if any of my friends, male or female dated someone with that much of an age difference. It gives me the heebie jeebies, I'd be having a very stern talk with my friend, along with a decent smack upside the head. If they're both over the legal age of 18 and have an age difference, I see no problem with that All though I can still find some creepy, like the ladies who date someone old enough to be their grandfather, YUCK!
